As of May 2024, we've renamed the core parts of our product: Short Links are Bitly Links, QR Codes are Bitly Codes, and Link-in-bio pages are Bitly Pages. These changes reflect how the different parts of the Connections Platform work together and the many ways you can use our platform.
A Bitly Code is basically a scannable version of a Bitly Link. Here are some things to know about the connection between your QR Codes and links:
- If you edit the back-half of a link, the QR Code changes.
- To redirect a QR Code, redirect the associated short link.
- When you create a new QR Code, we also create a short link to the same URL.
- You can create a QR Code for any short link already in your account.
And what about Bitly Pages? The links on a landing page are also short links:
- When you create a new short link, you have the option to add it to a Bitly Page.
- When you add a link to a Bitly Page, you can choose to create a new link or select one you've already shortened.
- If you edit a short link that also appears on a Bitly Page (for example, by changing the back-half), the button on your landing page also changes.
- If you redirect a short link that appears on a Bitly Page, the link on your page still goes to the old destination.
And, of course, any of the links from a Bitly Page can have a QR Code associated with them, giving you several different ways you can share the same link. You can even create a QR Code for each Bitly Page, making it easier to share your page.
