This feature is available with some paid plans
A redirect changes the destination URL for a Bitly Link or Bitly Code. If you redirect a link that's associated with a QR Code or a button on your Bitly Page, those are redirected as well.
Each of our subscription plans has a different monthly limit for redirects. A redirected link also counts as a new link, meaning it counts against your monthly link limit. If you hit your link limit, you won't be able to redirect any links until the start of the next month.
Some plans allow you to purchase additional links and redirects. View your limits in the billing and usage section of your account settings.
As of May 2024, we've renamed the core parts of our product: Short Links are Bitly Links, QR Codes are Bitly Codes, and Link-in-bio pages are Bitly Pages. These changes reflect how the different parts of the Connections Platform work together and the many ways you can use our platform.
To edit the destination of a Bitly Link:
- Log in to your Bitly account.
- Click Links in the left sidebar.
- Find the link you want to redirect. If you have a lot of links, use search or filters.
- Click the edit icon (it looks like a pencil).
- Next to the destination URL, click Redirect.
- Click Yes, continue.
- Enter the new target URL and click Redirect.
The link now points to your new destination URL. If there's an associated QR Code or if this link is on your Bitly Page, those now point to the new destination as well.
Redirect history
When you select the link from the list of all links, you can scroll down to see its redirect history. This includes the current target URL, previous URLs, the number of clicks each link received, and the time span each target URL was active.
