Quick Answer: Account admins on Enterprise plans can create groups from Settings > Groups > Add new group.
This article explains what groups are, how to create one, and how to manage your group(s).
What are groups?
Groups let you organize your Bitly account by team, department, region, brand, or any structure that fits your organization. Each group can have its own users, custom domains, links, QR Codes, and Pages.
Before you start
- You must be an account admin to create a group. Visit What are the different user roles in Bitly? to learn more about roles.
- Your account must have an Enterprise subscription.
- Each Enterprise account can have up to 150 groups.
Steps to create a group
- Log in to your Bitly account.
- Click Settings in the left sidebar.
- Click Groups.
- Click Add new group.
- Enter a name for your group in the Group Name field.
- Click Create group.
After you create a group
After creating the group, you're taken to its group usage page.
From here, you can:
Managing your group limits
If your account has reached its groups limit and you need more, or you want to deactivate groups that are not actively in use, please contact your CSM. They can help add additional groups or deactivate existing ones.
Links, QR Codes, and Pages that belong to a deactivated group will still continue to function (redirects and scans will still work). However, the entire group, including any links, QR Codes, and Pages, will no longer appear in the platform after deactivation and cannot be edited.
Frequently Asked Questions

Can I move links or QR Codes between groups?
Links and QR Codes are associated with the group they were created in and cannot be moved across groups.
Is there a limit to how many users I can add to a group?
The number of users per group depends on your Enterprise plan's user seat allocation. For questions about user seats or limits, contact your CSM.
