Configuring mobile apps is the first step to creating deep links through the Bitly platform. Follow these steps to configure one or more mobile apps.

Only Account admins are able to configure mobile apps.
To add mobile apps to your account:
- Log in to your Bitly account.
- Click Settings in the left sidebar.
- Select Mobile deep links under account settings.
- Click Add a mobile application.
- Choose whether you are configuring an iOS or an Android app.
Note: We only support apps built for iOS and Android at this time. If you would like another OS supported, please contact your Customer Success Manager.
Configuring an iOS app
If the app is already live in the iTunes store, we automatically pull the App Icon, App Title, and App Install URL. If the app isn't in the iTunes store yet, manually add this information, along with the other required fields.
- Add or paste the iTunes ID.
- Add the Apple App ID. The Apple App ID is required to configure a domain for Universal Links.
- Add the App Scheme. The App Scheme is required to create link-level deep links to the app.
You can edit any of these fields and refresh the App Icon from the iTunes store at any time.
Configuring an Android app
If the app is already live in the Play Store, we automatically pull the App Icon, App Title, and App Install URL. If the app isn't in the Play Store yet, manually add this information, along with the other required fields.
- Add or paste the Google Play ID.
- Add one or more SHA-256 Keys. One or more SHA-256 keys are required to configure a custom domain for Android App Links.
- Add the App Scheme. The App Scheme is required to create link-level deep links to the app.
You can edit any of these fields and refresh the App Icon from the Play Store store at any time.
Additional notes
- The Bitly App ID can be found by selecting the app in the Mobile Apps section of group permissions.
- You can edit or delete apps at any time by selecting them in the Mobile Apps section of Group Permissions.
- An Enterprise Account can support up to 100 mobile apps.
