Bitly Assist is Bitly's built-in AI assistant. It helps you create links and QR Codes, and get instant answers from your performance data. Bitly Assist is available to all paid plan users.

What is Bitly Assist?
Bitly Assist is an AI-powered assistant built directly into your Bitly account. It combines link and QR Code creation with performance analysis in a single, persistent side panel so you can get things done faster without leaving the page you're on.
Whether you want to create a link or understand your click data, Bitly Assist is available wherever you are in the product.
How do I access Bitly Assist?
Bitly Assist is available in two ways:

Contextual prompts: Prompts appear in your account as you work on the Homepage, Links List, Link Details, Bulk Create, and Analytics Overview pages. Click any prompt to open Bitly Assist in the side panel.

Global entry point: Use the Bitly Assist icon on the upper right corner of the menu bar. It’s available anywhere in your account to start a custom conversation at any time.
In both cases, the Bitly Assist side panel opens on your current page so you can keep working while you chat.
Who has access to Bitly Assist?
- All paid plan users have full access to Bitly Assist.
- Free plan users do not have access to Bitly Assist. If you're on a free plan, you'll see an upgrade prompt when you engage with a Bitly Assist feature.
Usage limit: Bitly Assist supports up to 30 conversations per user, per day.
Chat history and feedback
Your Bitly Assist conversations are saved automatically so you can revisit them anytime. You can also delete individual threads or clear your full chat history from within the panel.
There are two ways for you to provide feedback. You can rate (upvoting or downvoting) the helpfulness of any AI response directly in the chat or click on the menu bar and select Leave feedback. Your feedback helps improve future responses.
What Bitly Assist doesn't support yet
Bitly Assist is focused on link and QR Code creation and performance analysis. At this time, it does not support:
- Bitly Campaigns configuration or analysis.
- User settings changes.
- Custom domain setup or configuration.
- Account upgrades (though it can point you to the pricing page).
- Searching Help Center articles.
We're continuing to expand what Bitly Assist can do over time.
Enterprise customers: managing Bitly Assist for your team
Enterprise account admins can disable Bitly Assist and all AI features at the account level. When AI is disabled, users will see a message in the side panel directing them to contact their admin.
Admin path: Settings → Account Details → AI Account Settings → Disable→ Save

Is Bitly Assist available on my plan?
Bitly Assist is available to all paid plan users. Free plan users will see an upgrade prompt instead of the chat experience.
Does Bitly Assist use my data?
Bitly Assist only uses your own Bitly account data. Bitly Assist does not access or share information from other accounts or external sources.
Is my data used to train AI models?
User data is not used to train AI models. Bitly Assist only accesses data from a user’s own Bitly account. It does not access, infer, or share information about other users, brands, or external benchmarks.
What if Bitly Assist can't help with something?
If your request is outside of what Bitly Assist currently supports, it will return a clear message and suggest alternative actions you can take. If you believe your request should be supported, share your feedback using the feedback tool in the app.
