Salesforce is a company with many products, and each one can connect to Bitly in different ways. Your options will be based on your Salesforce product and your technical resources. All Salesforce products can be connected through our APIs, but you'll need to have a developer to build that connection for you.
Enable Built-in Integrations
Some products, like Pardot and Social Studio, have built-in connectors that add a link-shortening option right into your workflow when creating messages. These integrations can be enabled by your Salesforce administrator through their Salesforce admin settings.
Build API Integrations
Others, like Salesforce CRM, don't have built-in connectors. But because Salesforce and Bitly have APIs (a pathway for apps to communicate and share information through code) they can be connected by a developer on your team.
API connections are written by developers to do everything from synchronizing records between systems, to creating and sending short links in bulk, to pulling in analytics data and combine them with other metrics.
Use Both Options
You might also want to use both a built-in connector and an API connection for a single product.
For example, with Pardot, the built-in connector lets marketers shorten a link when writing an individual email in the app, but an API connection can create personalized links for many customers and send them in bulk through email.
These are just a couple of examples of the many powerful ways you can make your workflow more efficient by connecting Salesforce products with Bitly.
Services like Zapier and IFTTT also offer ways to connect Bitly to other products. Depending on your use case, you might want to check the availability of your product there, too.
