Bitly's self-service single sign-on (SSO) allows you to connect your Bitly users with an identity provider (IDP) — the central system where you manage your organization's users and their access to applications.
Instead of managing separate Bitly passwords, your team logs in through your company's IDP using their existing credentials. This provides a seamless, secure authentication experience across all your business tools. SSO is included with every Enterprise subscription.
Supported Standards:
- SAML 2.0: Security protocol for single sign-on authentication.
- SCIM 1.1 and 2.0: Automated user provisioning and deprovisioning.
While Bitly supports SAML SSO with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), SCIM provisioning is not currently supported with Microsoft Entra ID. If you use Entra ID, you'll need to manage user provisioning manually in Bitly.
SSO helps:
- Reduce password fatigue from entering different usernames and passwords across multiple platforms.
- Manage and update Bitly Enterprise user permissions based on the evolving needs of your company.
- Reduce IT costs by lowering the number of calls about forgotten passwords.
WIth an SSO provider, you can centralize permissions management across multiple platforms, making it more convenient and secure for end-users to access specific tools and technology needed to do their job.
