Tags are a way to organize your links so that you can search and filter them more easily. Use tags to keep track of the channels you share your links on, organize your links for a specific marketing campaign, tag favorite links, and more.
Follow these steps to:
Add tags
Tags can only be added after the link is created. You can add tags to any links in your account from the Links page.
To add tags to a link:
- Log in to your Bitly account.
- Click Links in the left sidebar.
- Find the link you want to add tags to. Any existing tags are displayed on the link card, or it says "No tags."
Hover your cursor over this text, then click + Add tag.
- Select an existing tag to add to this link. To create a new tag, type it into the field and hit Enter/Return. Tags are case-sensitive.
- Repeat for as many tags as you want. Click outside of the tags box to save your tags.
On the Links page, all tags are shown on the link.
Add tags in bulk
Tags can be added to multiple links at once.
To add tags to multiple links:
- Log in to your Bitly account.
- Click Links in the left sidebar.
- Select the checkboxes next to the links you'd like to hide. Click the checkbox at the top to select all visible links.
- Click Tag.
- Select one or more existing tags. To create a new tag, type it into the search field and press Enter.
Delete tags
Tags can't be deleted from your account, but they can be removed from links.
To delete a tag from a link:
- Log in to your Bitly account.
- Click Links in the left sidebar.
- Find the link you want to remove tags from and click the edit icon (it looks like a pencil).
- Click the X on the tag you want to remove.
- Click Save when you're done.
Filter by Tags
Once you've started tagging your links, you can filter your links by those tags.
To filter by tags:
- Log in to your Bitly account.
- Click Links in the left sidebar.
- Click Add filters.
- Select the tags you want to use as your filters. Then click Apply.
