This is a general guide for moving your domain to a new registrar. The exact process may vary depending on which services you're moving between. For specifics, search for instructions from your current registrar and your new one.

These instructions don't apply to complimentary domains.
To transfer your domain to a new registrar:
- Remove your domain lock. Most registrars have a feature that locks your domain to that service, to protect you from unauthorized attempts to steal the domain. This needs to be disabled manually. Look for the option to disable domain lock.
- Get an authorization code. Look for an option to request an authorization code. Once requested, this code is sent to you by email.
- Initiate the transfer with your new registrar. In your account for your new registrar, look for the option to transfer a domain. Enter your domain and your authorization code, then look for an email from your new provider with steps to confirm the transfer.
- Pay (if required) then wait for the transfer to complete. The transfer shouldn’t take long. With some registrars you may need to wait several days, but with others it can take less than a day.
When the transfer is complete, your new domain will appear under your management screen on your new platform.
