Each Bitly account is subject to two kinds of API limits: rate limits and your subscription plan's monthly limits. For tips on how to avoid hitting your limits, visit Why am I hitting my API limits? and our site for developers, dev.bitly.com.
Rate limits
Most Bitly plans come with our standard API rate limit. Higher rate limits are available with an Enterprise subscription.
If you exceed your per-hour or per-minute call limit, wait for one hour or one minute (depending on which rate limit you hit) to resume making API calls to that endpoint.
If you have a Bitly Enterprise subscription and would like to increase the API limits in your account, please reach out to your Account Manager.
Monthly limits
Each subscription plan has a different monthly limit for calls to the Bitly API. Monthly limits rest on the first of the month.
To increase your plan's limits, upgrade to a higher plan or, for Enterprise accounts, contact your account manager.
