Each of our subscription plans has a different monthly limit for various features, including API requests. In addition to having a monthly limit for API calls, your account's other monthly limits also apply to links and QR Codes created or redirected through the API.

Third-party apps and integrations
Many third-party apps and integrations are built using the API. If you've connected to any third-party apps or integrations, your monthly API limits apply to all requests they make to the Bitly API.
Some of these make many calls to the Bitly API for different reasons, beyond when you create or update a link or QR Code. If you're hitting your monthly API limits, check if you're using an app or integration that was built by a third party. It could be making unexpected API calls in the background.
Apps built by Bitly don't apply. Those are:

- Bitly Chrome Extension
- Bitly Firefox Extension
- Bitly Safari Extension
- Bitly IE Extension
- Bitly iOS mobile app
- Bitly Android mobile app
