Bitly first introduced subscription plans to offer our customers more affordable and flexible alternatives to an enterprise-level plan.
Based on customer feedback and needs, we removed the Pro plan from our pricing page and modified other plans to closely align in price and features.
Customers who were subscribed to the Pro plan can select another plan. We've sent an email and coupon code to administrators of these plans with more details. This will require you to downgrade to the Free plan and then upgrade to Premium.
FAQ
-
Why must I downgrade to Free in order to utilize the coupon code?
SaaS plans with credit card payments ensure easy, secure billing for our customers. Downgrading to Free removes your account from the old invoicing method of billing. -
My Account already says I have a premium subscription?
You have received a free upgrade to Premium until the date indicated on your email. -
How does this affect the links I'm creating in Bitly?
Existing links — All bit.ly links shortened before your downgrade will continue to function. Links with a custom domain will continue to function as long as your DNS settings continue pointing to Bitly.Creating new links — If you decide to stay on the Free account, you will only be able to shorten new links with the default bit.ly domain. If you stay on a paid plan and have a custom domain, you will be able to shorten links with it as long as you the DNS settings point to Bitly.
-
What happens to my account if I choose not to upgrade to Premium? Do my previous links break?
Your account will be set to Free. Your old links will not break, but you will not be able to redirect them or create new links with a custom domain unless you have a paid subscription with Bitly. See the previous question for more details. -
What happens to my 50% off coupon code after 5/31/2023?
If you do not use your 50% off coupon code by 5/31/2023, it will expire. If you choose to upgrade after this time to our annual Premium plan, you will have to pay full list price. -
Can I share the coupon code?
No, the code is specific to your account and should not be shared. It can only be used one time. -
What if I need more than 3,000 links per month?
Our support team would be happy to direct you to one of our Bitly Sales representatives to guide you through other custom plans we offer. -
How do I get support for my account, or what if I have more questions?
If you have a current paid subscription, log in to your Bitly account and submit a ticket to our support team. For any further questions not covered here regarding your previous Pro subscription, please email Pro@bitly.com.
