What is Marketo?
Marketo is a marketing automation platform with a ton of features and tools to coordinate and track marketing leads and campaigns. Marketo may be best known for its powerful email campaign management, which you can use to set up and schedule drip campaigns to leads and customers, but it includes many marketing tools to communicate and analyze social and ad efforts.
Why should I connect Marketo to Bitly?
It's a good idea to keep data in sync across systems or to update one based upon changes in the other. You may also want to shorten links in bulk as you send out email campaigns or scheduled social posts through Marketo. There are many options, and you'll have different functionality depending on the method you use to connect the two.
How do I connect Marketo to Bitly?
An integration between Marketo and Bitly can be set up in a few different ways.
An API is a method to share data and actions between two different applications. Both Marketo and Bitly have APIs available to our customers. You will need experienced software engineers to write the code that will connect your account at Marketo to your Bitly account. You will then work with them to determine how you want data shared or updated between the two systems.
The greatest benefit of creating your own API connection is the control you can have over automating detailed tasks and updates.
Zapier is an integration tool to trigger changes in one application based on actions in another. It's a way to connect without coding, but with a limited number of triggers and actions which are controlled by Zapier. The Marketo connector may also require a Zapier subscription.
Zapier walks you through setting up a Zap to do things like creating a campaign in Bitly when a new campaign is entered in Marketo. You can view all the available options on Zapier's Bitly-Marketo page.
