The Organic Shares metrics display traffic driven to your domains by people creating short links through Bitly.
For example, if an influencer copies a link from your site and shortens it in Bitly, it will be included in Organic Shares. You can see the number of links created through Bitly and the clicks those links have received within your selected date range.
You can view Organic Shares in your dashboard.
As of October 24, 2019, we updated the way Organic Shares are calculated to give you a better sense of activity around your content. Prior to the change, Bitly counted each of your content destinations once, regardless of how many links were created for it. After the change, Bitly counts each and every short link created, even if they go to the same destination.
