If you are trying to customize a link, but are seeing the message: 'This custom Bitlink is taken,' this means that the desired custom keyword ending for this link has already been used by the Bitly community.
All custom keyword endings can only be used once, on its custom domain.
For example, if someone has saved the customization bit.ly/sample, you would not be able to use 'sample' as the custom keyword ending for your link on the bit.ly domain.
Keep in mind when customizing your links, those custom keywords are permanently associated with the link they were first saved with. Changing the custom keyword on a link does not free up that custom keyword for use on other links, so be sure to choose your custom keywords wisely!
And always remember, custom keywords are case sensitive! If your desired custom keyword is already taken, we suggest altering the capitalization to find a keyword that is available.
