Configuring mobile apps is the first step to creating deep links through the Bitly Platform. Follow these steps to configure one or more mobile apps:
1. Navigate to the Group Permissions section of your Enterprise account. NOTE: Only Account admins are allowed to access the group permissions and configure mobile apps.
2. Click on the Mobile Apps tab and select the 'Add Mobile App' button:
3. Choose whether you are configuring an iOS or Android app. NOTE: We only support apps built for iOS and Android at this time. If you would like another OS supported, please contact your Success Manager or email customersuccess@bitly.com.
Configuring an iOS app
- Add or paste the iTunes ID.
- If the app is already live in the iTunes store we will automatically pull the App Icon, App Title and App Install URL from the iTunes store. Note: You can edit all of these fields and refresh the App Icon from the iTunes store at any time.
- If the app is not live in the iTunes store yet, please manually add the required fields.
- Add the Apple App ID. NOTE: The Apple App ID is required to configure a domain for Universal Links.
- Add the App Scheme. NOTE: The App Scheme is required to create link-level deep links to the app.
Configuring an Android app
- Add or paste the Google Play ID.
- If the app is already live in the Play store we will automatically pull the App Icon, App Title and App Install URL from the Play store. Note: You can edit all of these fields and refresh the App Icon from the Play Store store at any time.
- If the app is not live in the iTunes store yet, please manually add the required fields.
- Add one or more SHA-256 Keys. NOTE: One or more SHA-256 keys are required to configure a domain for Android App Links.
- Add the App Scheme. NOTE: The App Scheme is required to create link-level deep links to the app.
NOTES
- The Bitly App ID can be found by selecting the app in the Mobile Apps section of group permissions.
- You can edit or delete apps at any time by selecting them in the Mobile Apps section of Group Permissions.
- An Enterprise Account can support up to 100 mobile apps.
